Ben Williams - Business Partner International, Commercial Finance,
Royal Mail Group plc

Ben joined Royal Mail through their graduate programme in 2004 and has gained experience and exposure throughout the Group while also completing his professional qualifications.

During his 2 years on the business’ graduate programme, Ben worked within the Group’s finance function performing several roles which saw him get involved in assisting the preparation of the regulatory and statutory accounts and providing management information to directors and fellow colleagues. And throughout this time, Ben was sponsored and fully supported in completing his CIMA professional qualifications.

In 2007, Ben was appointed Head of Projects and Investments for Royal Mail’s Commercial Finance function, whereby he, and his team of 2, were responsible for coordinating and assisting Project Managers in developing their ideas into meaningful propositions and then overseeing the deployment of such projects. This has included overseeing the development of a number of new projects and brand initiatives.

At the age of 26, Ben has recently been appointed as the Business Partner for the International division managing a team of 11 people. His responsibilities include the performance management of the international products and operational units, overseeing foreign exchange risk, improving financial processes and assisting in the development of the business’ international strategy.

“I am very proud to work for a company that has fully supported my career and actively supported the completion of my professional qualifications and ongoing development.
