Technical Accountant

Technical Accountant wanted by a prestigious top-tier financial services company.

The successful Technical Accountant must have up-to-date technical accounting skills (IFRS).

Responsibilities include:

Be a subject matter expert on accounting and technical issues.

Provide information and advice on new technical developments, technical accounting queries and practical application.

Provide on-going assurance of the banks ability to comply with accounting policies and planned and targeted reviews on key risk area.

Provide finance support cluster specific transactions and projects e.g. acquisition accounting, impact of reorganisation and other complex transaction.

Manage and develop effective relationships with different parts of the business with a view to ensuring that all objectives are met in accordance with that banks requirements on all Reporting, Technical and Governance issues.

Help drive new team set-up & processes, advise on best practice and promote technical accounting as centre of excellence within the group.

Skill set:

Transaction experience e.g. work on acquisition accounting (IFRS3)

IFRS and Sarbanes Oxley exposure

Working knowledge of SAP

Strong accounting knowledge and knowledge of bank accounting policies, governance, procedures and controls

Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills

Financial services experience
