Financial accounting is a critical part of any commercial enterprise and is often based at head office. This Financial Accountant is responsible for pulling together all of the financial information that relates to the organisation. Technically demanding, it provides other departments with an excellent financial overview of the business and tends to involve some extremely high profile projects, which are then presented to the board.
Typically, a Financial Accountant will assist with the production of all financial management information – including an analytical review of the balance sheet.
Other areas of responsibility will include:• The preparation of annual consolidated financial statements;• The review of actual results achieved against budgets, forecasts and plans• Assisting with the implementation and modification of the consolidated system• Assistance with the preparation of CFO’s commentary for inclusion in board information and preparation and review of strategic plans.
Financial Accountants will tend to be highly numerate and analytical individuals, good communicators and presenters at all levels, have the ability to build effective relationships at all levels and have excellent systems knowledge and international reporting exposure.
